Sustainable summer essentials and tips
We can't believe it's already summer!
With lockdowns easing down around the world, everyone is starting to think about traveling and taking a summer vacation.
If this sounds like you, here are our sustainable summer essentials and tips!
First thing on the list to get a hold of is a good quality and high SPF sunscreen that is also sustainable, for us that means that it has to be reef safe and come in non-plastic packagings like cardboard or aluminum, here is a pretty complete list with reviews from the sustainable jungle (Zero Waste Sunscreen: 13 Plastic-Free Brands Protecting Your Skin & Our Planet).
On the same note, even when we remember to apply enough sunscreen, Summer is when our skin suffers the most from the ocean water and too much sun exposure, our natural homemade zero waste skin moisturizer is our go-to, it is made from only 2 ingredients that are easy to find, head to this link for our DIY.
It seems quite obvious but; stay hydrated! Is there anything more important than that? Since you are at it, why not do it with a beautiful bamboo reusable water bottle? Check it out here!
We also have the perfect bag to either go to the beach, grocery shopping, or only out for a drink, the Indic net bag is a must-have this summer. And lastly, for those of you planning to go to hotels or Airbnb’s… take your own sustainable toiletries travel kit, remember that not all hotels have eco-friendly toilet amenities (in fact most of them still offer single-use plastic only)! So be prepared and have yours ready.
