Our transition to shampoo bars: we made it!
But... latest update: WE MADE IT! We’ve finally found a way of making it work.
We tried everything: washing it every day, every 2 days, shampoo for oily hair, then for dry hair, adding different kinds of vinegar, not rinsing it after applying it, rinsing it, drying it, letting it in.
Water is Bali isn’t the best to get this process started; here we have what’s known as hard water. If you have hard water, it’s the minerals that cause the scales on the hair to stand up. The soap molecules will “grab” the minerals in the hard water and leave those deposits in your hair. This will give you a “waxy” feeling which, as you can imagine, isn’t the most pleasant one.
We’ve been fighting against this for about 4 months now and finally discovered a solution for each of us. Guess what, what works for each of us is completely different!
What works for me, Laia, is simply rinse with some vinegar once finished and blow dry it!
As for Susie, she only applies conditioner to the ends of her hair, adds vinegar after rinsing the conditioner off, scrubs it in and rinses it off with hot water.
