Make your own deodorant with natural ingredients
If like us you are trying to reduce your environmental footprint you might also start to cringe every time you buy certain hygiene products. We have already started switching to more natural and zero waste alternatives, we use bamboo toothbrushes, we started making our own toothpaste, we also make our own hair mask and conditioner, we buy bar shampoo and sunscreen, we use menstrual cups and we bought a natural deodorant that we LOVE, but because we can’t find it in Bali we decided to start making our own!
From what we have read, it is important to adjust the ingredients to your personal needs, everybody is different. So here is the recipe we are going to try, we will let you know how it works out.
Coconut Oil Deodorant
6 Tbsp Coconut Oil
4 Tbsp Baking soda
4 Tbsp Arrowroot or Cornstarch
Essential oils (optional for essence)
The steps are really simple, melt the base ingredient (coconut oil) and mix in the rest of the ingredients, you can also add essential oil if desired, you can use any essence you like. And finally, store in a glass container. This recipe doesn’t need to be refrigerated. And again, you might need to adjust the portions of the ingredients to your own needs.
Please let us know if you have any tips or suggestions, we would LOVE to hear from other experiences!
