For the longest time, we’ve been wondering what to do with our organic waste; we didn’t want it to end up in landfills but we also didn’t have any farmer’s market to take it to or any space at home to do composting ourselves. 

It’s taken us some time but we have finally come across a composting service with also a really interesting project behind. 

Urban biologist is a great local initiative; having in mind the prominent waste issue the island has, they’ve teamed up to offer composting services to households and organizations. It’s pretty simple, they bring you a bucket where you put all your organic waste, they pick it up once a week and bring you soil for your plants! 

Each household gets a bag of soil and they donate whatever is left to farmers in the area. How great is that? On top of that, they also work to reduce the use of pesticides and offset their carbon footprint.
