We live our lives oblivious of the fact that 91% of plastic waste will end up in landfills and the ocean.
It will all be here long after we are gone. Yet, we act like it won’t.
Our planet isn’t disposable.
We grow up being told that as long as we sort our garbage out, the problem is gone. Therefore, we go on with our daily routine without giving a second thought to the fact that every single piece of plastic we have ever bought, consumed and thrown away is still here. Somewhere around the planet, whether it’s a landfill, the ocean or anywhere else.
Disclaimer: No plastic was bought for this campaign. We collaborated with Ocean Mimic, a Balinese non profit that manages a plastic waste sorting center.
How many plastic bottles do you use in a year?
The average person consumes 167 bottles within a year.
That’s 8,350 bottles every 50 years.
If only 9% are recycled, 7,598 will end up in nature.
We are 7.8 billion people.
