When we created be ALAM, we wanted it to be not only as sustainable and ethical as possible, but also to have some sort of relationship with nature other than the obvious. This is why we named each of our collections after different natural ecosystems all over the world:
The products in our Knotted collection are named after oceans and seas around the world; this is why 10% of the profits of this go to Ocean Conservancy. They do an amazing job saving our oceans and have super interesting projects. You can see more here.
The products in our Rattan collection are named after jungles around the world; 10% of the profit of this collection currently goes to Amazon Conservation Association. Given the current situation, it couldn’t be any other way.
The products in our Bamboo collection are named after islands around the world; 10% of the profits if this collection goes to Island Conservancy, a non profit that works to preserve different ecosystems in different islands.
Finally, the products in our Coconut collection are named after astronomical signs; 10% of the profits in this collection goes to carbon tax. We know shipping products all over the world isn’t the most eco-friendly alternative. This way, on top of trying to minimise shipments as much as possible, we voluntarily contribute to carbon tax.
